Family Medicine Wards

Location:  Sinai/Grace Hospital

Coordinator:  Dr. Tom Roe

Objectives:

1. The transitional intern will perform the patient care duties commensurate with those of a first year resident.
2. The intern will expand upon these skills to develop a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic approach to the hospitalized patient.
3. The intern will identify and address the psychosocial needs of the patient and family through the hospital stay.
4. The intern will provide continuity of care from admission to discharge.

Methods:

1. Work up new patients and provide continuing care under the supervision of senior resident and faculty.
2. Participate in all medical conferences.
3. Daily bedside rounds and teaching rounds.
4. Night call with close supervision by senior resident.
