Objectives:

1. The student will become familiar with care of the critically ill surgical patient in a multidisciplinary team setting.

2. Experience with ventilator management, common intensive care unit procedures and resuscitation will be obtained.

Methods:

1. Daily SICU team rounds

2. Patient care responsibility/on call every 5th night

3. ICU lecture series
