| Moonlighting After completing one year of training, residents in good academic standing may moonlight within the hospitals of the Detroit Medical Center. Most residents utilize this benefit to supplement their income and enhance clinical experience. Residents with J-1 visas are not eligible. | |

| University Physical Education Facilities As a Full-time post-doctoral student at Wayne State University, residents can use the physical education facilities on the main campus. The WSU campus is located about a half mile north of the DMC's downtown campus. | |

| Conference expenses Travel and expenses are subsidized by the department of Internal Medicine for any resident who is the first author of a scientific abstract selected for presentation at a regional or national meeting in the continental United States. | |
