All residents are encouraged to pursue both clinical and basic science research during the three years of residency training. All first year residents submit a case report for presentation at the Michigan Chapter meetings of the American College of Physicians. Senior residents may spend up to two elective months to engage in dedicated basic science research. Over the last several years our residents have won numerous regional and national awards for excellence in research.
